Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC Barcelona) is a private, non-profit university based in Barcelona, Spain, founded in 1997. UIC Barcelona offers 16 bachelor’s degrees and a wide range of official and professional master’s and postgraduate programmes, with highly personalised instruction and a strong vocational focus. The UIC Barcelona team in HEALTH-LOG-AI
UIC Barcelona participates in HEALTH-LOG-AI through members of the Quality and Innovation for Service Excellence (QISE) research group, who are actively involved in European projects, the Observatory for AI and New Technologies (OIANT), and ALFA – AI Literacy For All students and professors. The team’s core expertise covers digitalisation, artificial intelligence, operations management, skills gaps, competency frameworks, scale development and quantitative methods. This expertise supports the project’s aim of translating AI literacy into practical competencies for non-expert professionals working in healthcare logistics and supply chains.

The UIC Barcelona team is responsible for the overall coordination and management of WP2, Defining the New Competencies for AI literacy in healthcare logistics. It guides partners in the design of the AI literacy framework, develops the intermediate and final AI-literacy framework, and oversees competency profiles, scales and gap identification. UIC Barcelona also leads the development of competency frameworks and profiles for non-expert logistics professionals, translating desk and field research into visual, role-sensitive and application-based competency profiles for healthcare logistics. In addition, UIC Barcelona actively contributes to the identification and delivery of training modules, their testing, and communication and dissemination activities at national and international level.
The UIC Barcelona team is led by Dr. Ruggero Colombari, Assistant Professor at UIC Barcelona, Principal Investigator of ALFA and board member of OIANT.
